You may wonder why such a poor illustration would be displayed here as something I am proud of. For me this was an epiphany. When I drew this image I was struggling to understand the ‘life cycle’ of a neutron in a nuclear reactor. Not something you can visualize and for me, being a visual learner, difficult to absorb. This concept was crucial to understanding reactivity in a nuclear reactor. One night as I worked through the neutron life cycle I had made some sketches of what I thought it would look like for every stage in it’s life. When I put them all together I had this! My first visual aid. From this point on I tried to build a visual aid for every ‘hard to imagine’ concept. |
